Where can you buy eco stuff in your area?
Fetch’em from the Cupboard, Fetcham and Ashtead
I remember being dragged round the 'Scoop n Save' in my home town as a kid. They had big bins on the floor with scoops and you used paper bags. With the original 80s one in mind I trotted off to the new Ashtead store. It was considerably posher and more expensive than the one I remember! But, they had a really good range of produce (fresh and dry), easy-ish weighing scales and friendly staff.
Most of the shop has a range of package-free goods which you buy in weight. You can either take your own container or buy one of theirs. I used one of their paper bags to weigh out some granola. They had a good range of pulses, nuts, seeds, dried fruit, granola, etc.
They also have eco shampoo, conditioner and other liquids such as washing up liquid, laundry detergent. There’s a small fresh veg section, organic tinned goods and other health food shopping. Nearer the back are shampoo bars, toothbrushes, metal straws, toothpaste, etc.
I bought granola, a shampoo bar, compostable dental floss sticks and some vegan pate.
